Ajaccio has appointed Christian Bracconi, the director of the training center, as the interim coach following the departure of Fabrizio Ravanelli after their defeat against Valenciennes (1-3). The decision was made by Alain Orsoni, the president of the club, who expressed confidence in Bracconi’s capabilities, stating, “The interim seems to me to be Christian Bracconi, the director of the center whom we have known for a long time and who has the capacity to carry out this mission.”
Despite the interim appointment, an iconic figure is making a potential comeback on the island of beauty—Frédéric Antonetti. Orsoni mentioned, “Is Antonetti in our prices, is Antonetti interested? There are other names too, but we won’t rule out any leads.”
Frédéric Antonetti has an impressive coaching history, having led Rennes from 2009 to 2013, and having coached Bastia, Saint-Etienne, and Nice. His achievements include winning the Ligue 2 championship in 2004 with Saint-Étienne, clinching the Intertoto Cup in 1997 with Bastia, and reaching the finals of the Coupe de la Ligue in 1995 (Bastia), 2006 (Nice), and 2013 (Rennes). Currently without a coaching position, Antonetti remains a notable candidate for the role.
