Fabrizio Ravanelli has stepped down as the coach of Ajaccio following their 1-3 defeat against Valenciennes. In the interim, Christian Bracconi, the director of the training center, will take over, as announced by Alain Orsoni, the president of the club.
Orsoni stated, “The interim seems to me to be Christian Bracconi, the director of the center whom we have known for a long time and who has the capacity to carry out this mission.”
Ravanelli, who spent only 12 days on the Ligue 1 bench, expressed his disappointment, saying, “I’m really disappointed, it hurts me. That’s the life of football. I worked, I did everything to make it work, it didn’t work. I am not angry. We had a lot of problems; I never had the full team.”
President Alain Orsoni acknowledged that it was Ravanelli who made the decision to leave and highlighted the difficulty in accepting it. He explained, “We have decided to stop our collaboration with Fabrizio Ravanelli and Gianpiero Ventrone. It was not an easy decision to make because from a human point of view, I really liked these two men. I wished it would work. Since my presidency, I have never seen a staff work so much, without counting the hours. They took their task to heart. However, my responsibility as president forced me to make a decision in the interest of the club. Tonight’s result did not influence my choice. It was a carefully considered choice which was decided after the defeat against Nantes. I’m not saying that this solution will necessarily be the right one, the future will tell us, but something had to be done.”
