Ailson Tavares: Cape Verde midfielder linked with Dinamo Bucharest switch from Beitar Jerusalem

Cape Verdean-Portuguese midfielder Ailson Tavares of Beitar Jerusalem is being linked with a move to Romanian side FC Dinamo in the SuperLiga. The 27-year-old defensive midfielder, currently playing in Israel’s Ligat ha’Al, is under contract with Beitar until 30 June 2027 but has emerged as a potential target for the Bucharest club.

Tavares, who was born in Praia and stands at 1.88m, joined Beitar Jerusalem on 4 July 2025 and wears the number 42 shirt. His situation in Israel is believed to be attracting interest as Dinamo explore options to reinforce the centre of their midfield ahead of the new campaign. With his market value currently listed at around €600,000, any deal would require Dinamo to negotiate a fee with Beitar, who remain in a strong position given the length of his contract.

The right-footed midfielder’s profile – operating in the screening role in front of the defence – has been shaped by experience in Portuguese football, where he won the Portuguese third division title with SC Uniao Torreense in the 2021-22 season. That success is understood to have contributed to sustained attention from clubs seeking a physically imposing presence at the base of midfield.

Tavares represents Beitar Jerusalem at domestic level and has now spent a full season adapting to Israeli top-flight football. With two years still remaining on his deal in Jerusalem, any move to Bucharest would depend on Dinamo meeting Beitar’s valuation and persuading the player to leave a secure contractual situation in Israel.
