Ahmed Shobier issues fiery messages to Hossam Hassan

Former Al Ahly goalkeeper and media figure Ahmed Shobier has sent a strong message to the club’s supporters, criticising the noticeably low attendance at recent matches.

He voiced his frustration in a post on X, wondering why the stands are no longer packed as before.

Shobier reminded fans of a past season when Al Ahly trailed the league leaders by 12 points, and many believed the title race was over, yet the supporters filled the stadium every game in the second half of the campaign and pushed the team to win all their matches and eventually lift the trophy.

He contrasted that passionate backing with the quieter scenes now, despite the team still being in contention.

Addressing the fans directly, he questioned how true supporters can be satisfied with just watching on TV or posting on social media instead of driving the team on from the terraces.

Shobier stressed that Al Ahly’s famous slogans about the crowd being the club’s “protection” must be reflected in action, especially with the team currently third in the league on 36 points, just one point behind leaders Zamalek and second-placed Pyramids.
