Ahmed Sherif has finally found his football home, signing with Zamalek in what he calls the fulfilment of a long-held dream.
The 21-year-old forward, formerly of Pharco, said joining the White Castle means more to him than any paycheque ever could.
“This move to Zamalek is something I’ve waited for,” Sherif shared in a radio interview. “I know the challenge will be tough with so many great players around.”
He credited sporting director John Edward for playing a key role in securing the move, calling him “instrumental” in making the transfer happen.
Though thrilled about the new chapter, Sherif expressed one bittersweet regret — not getting the chance to play alongside Zamalek legend Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala.
“Shikabala is a legend… it was my dream to play with him, but I only got to play against him,” Sherif said.
He also praised veteran Abdullah El-Saeed and his strong bond with teammate Amr Nasser.
“No amount of money from another club could change my mind,” he stressed. “Wearing Zamalek’s shirt is worth more than anything else.”
