Ahmed Samy is officially the new head coach of Alexandria Union, stepping in to guide the club through a fresh chapter in the upcoming football season.
The former Smouha tactician sealed the deal after an in-depth meeting in Cairo with interim president Mohamed Salama and football committee chief Mohamed Omar on Monday night.
Following thorough discussions, the club and Samy reached a final agreement. The experienced coach pledged to give his all and ensure the club has both the financial and logistical support needed to deliver strong results.
His appointment marks a new beginning after the departure of former coach Magdi Abdel Ati, which followed the resignation of former club president Mohamed Moselhi. Samy’s arrival is seen as a crucial step in stabilizing the team and regaining momentum.
Known for his work with several Egyptian clubs including Tanta, Ceramica Cleopatra, Stars FC, and Tala’ea El-Gaish, Samy brings a wealth of local experience that the club hopes will translate into success on the pitch.
