Ahmed Samy has been unveiled as the new head coach of Alexandria Union, stepping in to guide the club for the upcoming season.
The announcement comes shortly after the resignation of former coach Magdi Abdul Ati, who stepped down following the end of the season. Samy, who previously managed Tanta, El Entag El Harby, Ceramica Cleopatra, and most recently Smouha, brings a wealth of experience to the Alexandria-based side.
In an official club statement, Union confirmed that Samy has been granted full authority to choose his backroom staff and will work closely with the football committee, headed by Mohamed Omar, on player recruitment.
This appointment marks a new chapter for the club, which has seen significant leadership changes in recent weeks. The resignations of club president Mohamed Moselhi and vice president Ahmed Abdel Meguid added to the club’s ongoing restructuring.
With a proven record in Egyptian football, Samy’s arrival signals a fresh start and renewed ambitions for Alexandria Union ahead of the new campaign.
