Ahmed Refaat, a player for Modern Future, experienced a new development after he suddenly collapsed towards the end of the match against Al Ittihad Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League, causing his heart to stop.
Refaat was supposed to leave Zamzam Hospital in Alexandria on Monday evening in an ambulance provided by his club, Modern Future.
Before his departure from the hospital to a major hospital in Cairo, the player underwent new medical examinations.
However, he experienced a sudden increase in heart rate.
The medical team treating the player decided to postpone his transfer due to the sudden rapid heartbeat.
Ahmed Refaat had been at the hospital in Alexandria since March 11th after being transported from the stadium in an ambulance following his collapse towards the end of the match.
Waleed Daabes, the president of Modern Future Club, confirmed in television statements on Sunday that Refaat’s condition had significantly improved.
He regained full consciousness, breathed normally, and only experienced some kidney issues.
