Ahmed Mostafa Zizo is not hiding from the pressure. The Al Ahly midfielder admits fans are hurting after a tough Club World Cup run, but he believes the fight isn’t over yet.
After a goalless draw with Inter Miami and a 2-0 loss to Brazil’s Palmeiras, Al Ahly face a must-win match against FC Porto in their final Group Stage clash. The early Tuesday fixture is do-or-die, and Zizo knows exactly what’s at stake.
“The public has the right to be sad after losing to Palmeiras,” he admitted. “But we will fight against Porto and we have a chance to win in order to pass the group stage.”
“In football you can lose the opposite of the game. Everyone is currently focused on making the public happy.”
“Our goal is clear to everyone is to win against Porto.”
Al Ahly’s campaign has been plagued by injuries, harsh weather, and fatigue from a packed Egyptian league season. The pressure is high, but with Zizo leading the charge, Al Ahly still have hope.
