Ahmed Mostafa Zizo has brushed off Zamalek’s attempt to investigate him, choosing to stay away from a scheduled session on Saturday.
The midfielder’s no-show comes after he skipped training without permission, further fueling tensions with the club.
Zamalek recently confirmed that Zizo has officially left following the expiry of his contract. Talks over a renewal collapsed, and the club has since referred him for investigation over public remarks he made that criticized the team.
While the board imposed sanctions, Zizo has shown little interest in responding. Reports from Kooora indicate the player ignored the club’s move entirely. His lawyer, Ashraf Abdel Aziz, made it clear that Zizo would not attend the session, stressing on Friday that no formal notice of the meeting was ever sent.
“We do not deal with these matters through statements on social media,” the lawyer said in a TV interview.
Zizo is now reportedly close to signing with Zamalek’s bitter rivals, Al Ahly, in a move that could add more drama to an already tense situation.
