Algerian midfielder Ahmed Kendouci is set for a fresh challenge in Europe after securing a move to the Swiss Super League.
The Ceramica Cleopatra star has officially joined FC Lugano ahead of the new season, ending his brief permanent stay in the Egyptian top flight.
The deal was confirmed by Moataz Al-Battawi, Supervisor of Football at Ceramica Cleopatra, who revealed the club had accepted Lugano’s offer.
“We agreed to the departure of Ahmed Kendouci to Lugano next season,” Al-Battawi told Kooora.
The club also negotiated a 20% share of any future sale, indicating their belief in Kendouci’s potential rise in value on the European stage.
Kendouci had only just made his stay at Ceramica Cleopatra permanent following a loan spell from Egyptian giants Al Ahly. However, his time at the club was cut short after suffering a fractured foot during a league match against Pharco last season.
Now fully recovered, the talented midfielder will look to relaunch his career in Switzerland, where consistent playing time and a new environment could provide the perfect springboard for his ambitions.
