Egyptian international Ahmed Hegazi, a player for the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, has spoken about his team’s upcoming tough encounter against Navbahor Namangan from Uzbekistan in the AFC Champions League.
The match is scheduled for Thursday, set to kick off at 4:00 PM Cairo time (5:00 PM Mecca time), as part of the Round of 16 fixtures in the Asian tournament.
During the press conference ahead of the match, Hegazi stated, “The AFC tournament is very important.
We have prepared well, studied our opponent thoroughly, and we’ll know how to play tomorrow.
We will fight for victory because this is the mentality at Al-Ittihad, and it’s what we always strive for.”
He added, “The weather conditions won’t affect us. Yes, the pitch may not be in its best condition, but we have no excuses whether we play at home or away.
Our only goal is to win.”
The “Tigers of Jeddah” aim to secure a victory in the first leg to facilitate their task in the return leg in Jeddah and clinch a spot in the quarter-finals.
