Ahmed Fotouh, the left-back for Zamalek’s first football team, has officially signed the renewal contract with the White Knights.
The signing took place at the residence of Hussein Labib, the club’s president, with the presence of Hussein El-Sayed, a member of the board of directors, during a three-hour session that commenced at 10 p.m. yesterday Sunday, and concluded at 1 a.m.
A source informed “Al-Masry Al-Youm” that the recent hours witnessed a convergence of views between the player and the club’s management to extend his contract.
The source clarified that Ahmed Fotouh agreed to forgo £15 million from the signing bonus he had initially requested, which was valued at £40 million. In return, he secured £25 million, delivered in black briefcases during the signing session.
Fotouh extended his apologies to the fans, the members of the board, and his fellow players for any misconduct during the past period. He expressed his appreciation and respect for the supporters and his teammates, especially the senior players, referencing “Shikabala.” This gesture aims to resolve the issues between them and resume training after undergoing a rehabilitation program supervised by Dr. Mohamed Ashama, the team’s physician.
The £25 million agreement marks a significant development for Zamalek as they secure the services of Ahmed Fotouh, a key player in their squad.
