Ahmed Fattouh and Chico Banza rejoin Zamalek training after apologies
Ahmed Fattouh and Chico Banza made their return to Zamalek’s training on Monday evening, with both players putting recent troubles behind them.
The session was held at the Military College Stadium as the White Knights prepared for Thursday’s clash against Modern Sport in the Egyptian Premier League.
Fattouh had been sidelined after leaving the team’s pre-season camp to attend a concert, a move that drew criticism from the club. He later offered an apology to the board and football management, showing commitment by sticking to his individual training and completing a rehabilitation program. His reintegration into the group was approved by coach Yannick Ferreira, who emphasized the importance of discipline and unity.
Banza also faced internal sanctions after showing his displeasure at being substituted in the league opener against Ceramica Cleopatra. His exclusion from the following match against El Mokawloon El Arab served as a warning. The Angolan forward has since apologized, clearing the way for his return to training and potential selection.
Zamalek head into their third league game with four points, having beaten Ceramica Cleopatra 2-0 and drawn 0-0 with Arab Contractors.
