Pyramids FC coach Krunoslav Jurcic has picked Ahmed El-Shennawy as the best goalkeeper in Egypt following his outstanding performance in the CAF Champions League group stage opener.
El-Shennawy excelled when Pyramids defeated Sagrada Esperanca 5-1 on Tuesday at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
Goals from Mohamed Hamdi, Fiston Mayele, Ahmed Atef El Sayed and Ibrahim Adel’s brace were enough for the host to secure maximum points in the opening game.
After the game, the Croatian gaffer affirmed El-Shennawy is the best goalkeeper in the North Africa country.
“Ahmed El-Shennawy is the best goalkeeper in Egypt from his point of view and he was at the peak of his focus during the match.”
Meanwhile, Juric has turned his attention to his outfit away matches against Djoliba of Mali and Esperance of Tunisia as he aim to secure maximum points.
