Ahmed El Rousi: Egyptian left-back joins El Obour on free transfer from Diamond SC

Egyptian defender Ahmed El Rousi has joined El Obour from Diamond SC on a free transfer, signing a contract with the club until 30 June 2028.

The 30-year-old left-back switches clubs after one season with Diamond SC, where he arrived in July 2025, and becomes the latest addition to El Obour’s back line ahead of the new campaign. His move has been confirmed as a free transfer, continuing a sequence of Bosman switches in his recent career.

El Rousi, born on 1 September 1995, specialises as a left-back and will compete for a place in defence at his new club over the next two seasons under his newly agreed deal. The long-term contract reflects El Obour’s intention to retain stability on the left side of their back four through to 2028.

Before his spell at Diamond SC, El Rousi spent time at Mansoura, having joined them in August 2023 from Bilqas City. That move also came without a transfer fee, with the defender steadily progressing through Egyptian clubs over the past few years.

While primarily recognised for his defensive role, El Rousi also brings experience of domestic cup competition, having featured in the Egypt Cup earlier in his career. His arrival gives El Obour an additional option in a key position as they finalise preparations for the upcoming season.

El Rousi’s transfer from Diamond SC to El Obour is effective from 16 July 2026 and will keep the Egyptian full-back at the club for at least the next two campaigns.
