Ahmed El Gafali takes part in full Zamalek training for the first time

Ahmed El Gafali has completed his rehabilitation programme and joined Zamalek’s full team training for the first time.

The Tunisia winger took part in Tuesday’s session at the auxiliary pitch of Air Defence Stadium, having previously followed an individual programme to prepare him for a return to group work.

Zamalek’s media centre said the club’s medical staff checked on El Gafali before allowing him to train with the squad and confirmed that he was ready to take part.

Zamalek are preparing to face ZED in their next Egypt Capital Cup fixture. The match will be played on 7 October at Arab Contractors Stadium.

The Cairo club have been drawn in Group A of the competition alongside Wadi Degla, ZED, Tala’ea El Gaish and Al Ittihad Al Sakandary.

El Gafali, 22, joined Zamalek from US Monastir before moving to Abha on loan. Since arriving at Zamalek, he has made three appearances, playing a total of 38 minutes.

He has not featured for the club this season because he was not yet considered technically ready.
