Ahmed Abu Muslim, former star of Al Ahly Club and the Egyptian national team, praised the performance displayed by the Red Devils in the match against Ghana’s Medeama, where the team secured a 1-0 victory in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Speaking on the “Al Remontada” program on Al-Mehwar channel, Ahmed Abu Muslim stated, “Al Ahly is the merchant of joy in Egyptian football.
Al Ahly possesses a strong character that shines in challenging times.”
He added, “Al Ahly currently faces numerous injuries, with players like Amr Al-Sulaya and Karim Nedved being unavailable for participation.”
Furthermore, he noted, “Al Ahly underwent significant changes in the midfield against Medeama, yet the duo of Amr Al-Sulaya and Karim Nedved performed well.”
Commenting on Marcelo Gallardo, the coach of Al Ahly, Abu Muslim said, “Gallardo managed the match against Medeama exceptionally.
He sought to extract the maximum effort from the midfield trio and then introduced Akram Tawfik in the second half.”
Abu Muslim concluded his remarks, stating, “Karim Nedved’s debut was acceptable, and the injury he sustained during the match was natural, considering his absence from games for a period.”
