Ahmad Liman: Nigerian midfielder leaves Niger Tornadoes to join Barau FC

Nigeria attacking midfielder Ahmad Liman has joined Barau FC from Niger Tornadoes as the NPFL side move to strengthen their creative options in the final third. The 24-year-old, who plays primarily as an attacking midfielder and favours his right foot, makes the switch within the Nigerian top flight ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Liman arrives at Barau FC with significant league experience, having already featured extensively in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Across his NPFL career he has made 162 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 15 assists, amassing more than 10,000 minutes of action. His output suggests a player accustomed to regular responsibility and consistent selection at domestic level.

The move ends his latest spell with Niger Tornadoes, whom he rejoined in 2025 after a free transfer from Sunshine Stars. Liman has been on the books of several established NPFL clubs in recent seasons, including Akwa United and Lobi Stars, gradually building a profile as a reliable attacking option between midfield and the forward line.

Liman, born on 2 February 2002, reaches Barau FC at what should be a key stage of his career, with his current market value listed at €50,000 following his latest performances in the league. He has also been registered for continental competition, having been part of a squad listed for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Barau FC confirmed the transfer on 21 July 2026, with Liman joining the club’s national league set-up as a permanent addition to their midfield ranks.
