Danish club AGF Aarhus has made a formal bid to sign Malian forward Cheickna Doumbia, who is currently on loan at Khor Fakkan from Shabab Al Ahli Dubai.
The 21-year-old striker has attracted significant interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
AGF Aarhus, which has been monitoring Doumbia for some time, has reportedly offered around €600,000 for his transfer, according to sources from Africasoccer.
However, negotiations remain ongoing, as Shabab Al Ahli Dubai is holding out for at least €1 million before agreeing to a deal.
Doumbia, who is seen as one of the brightest young talents in Emirati football, has been regaining form following an injury sustained during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with Mali’s U23 national team.
Since joining Khor Fakkan, he has made 12 appearances in the UAE Pro League, scoring four goals.
Under contract with Shabab Al Ahli Dubai until June 2027, Doumbia is expected to take the next step in his career, with European clubs increasingly interested in securing his services.
While AGF Aarhus is the first club to submit an official bid, other sides, including Turkey’s Başakşehir FK, Czech giants Slavia Prague, Portugal’s Rio Ave, and UAE-based Sharjah, are also reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation.
Doumbia himself remains focused on his performances, expressing his ambition to continue improving. “I want to score more goals this season,” he stated, as he looks to solidify his reputation as a promising young striker.
