The 72-year-old expressed his gratitude, stating that he feels much better than he had expected. Pelé, who is often considered the greatest football player of all time, seemed surprised by the global attention his hospitalization received, saying, “I didn’t think people cared so much about me.” With his trademark humor, he even joked about being ready for the 2014 World Cup, referring to his rehabilitation process, which is expected to last four months. Pelé won three World Cups with Brazil and scored 1,281 goals in his illustrious career.
