AfroBasket 2015: Referees Announced for Tournament in Tunisia
The 28th edition of AfroBasket is set to take place in Tunisia from August 19 to 30, 2015, and the International Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) Refereeing Commission has officially announced the 16 referees who will officiate the continental competition.
Among them are two European referees: Miguel Perez (Spain) and Joseph Bissang (France), joining a diverse group of African officials to ensure the quality and fairness of the tournament.
AfroBasket 2015 is of major importance as the winner will qualify directly for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Meanwhile, the second and third place teams will earn the right to participate in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT), where 12 nations will battle for remaining Olympic berths.
