Ghana’s Afriyie Acquah Joins Sampdoria on Loan Amid AFCON Campaign
Midfielder Afriyie Acquah, currently representing Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2015 African Cup of Nations, has attracted the interest of Italian club Sampdoria.
Acquah has secured a loan move to Sampdoria from German side Hoffenheim, where he remains under contract until June 2017. The deal reportedly includes an option for Sampdoria to buy the player outright.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian, who began his Italian career with Palermo before moving on to Parma, will now embark on his third stint in Serie A with Sampdoria.
As Acquah continues to impress on the international stage, Sampdoria’s management hopes to capitalize on his form to bolster their midfield options for the remainder of the season.
