Africa's top ten World Cup legends

Africa has produced some unforgettable FIFA World Cup stars who left a lasting mark on football’s biggest stage.

Among them is Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan, Africa’s all-time leading World Cup scorer with six goals, while Cameroon’s Roger Milla became a global icon after inspiring his nation to the quarter-finals in 1990.

Nigeria’s Rashidi Yekini remains a legendary figure thanks to his famous celebration after scoring the country’s first World Cup goal in 1994. Goalkeeping great Thomas N’Kono helped put Cameroonian football on the world map, while Senegal’s Papa Bouba Diop will forever be remembered for scoring the winner against France at the 2002 World Cup.
