As reported by Africa Top Sports.com, Al Ahly emerged victorious in the 2013 CAF Super Cup, securing the trophy with a 2-1 win against AC Leopards of Dolisie from Congo. The players, led by Hossam Al Badry, demonstrated their prowess on the field.
Rami Rabia initiated the scoring for Al Ahly in the first half, capitalizing on the team’s strong dominance. After the halftime break, Mohammed Barakat further solidified Al Ahly’s lead by adding a second goal in the 70th minute.
AC Leopards made a comeback attempt in the 77th minute, narrowing the score with a goal from Rudy Guélor’s efforts. Despite a final opportunity for the Congolese team towards the end of the match, Al Ahly managed to hold on and secure the African Super Cup.
This victory marked a significant achievement for Al Ahly as they completed the double by previously winning the African Champions League, triumphing over Esperance de Tunis in 2012. The team’s success in both competitions showcased their dominance in African football during that period.
