2015 African Games – Beach Volleyball: Congo’s Men Eliminated After Three Straight Losses, Women Still Hopeful
It’s been a rough campaign for the Congo men’s beach volleyball team at the 2015 African Games. The Red Devils suffered their third defeat in as many matches, bowing out to Burundi 1-2 on Thursday. The loss follows earlier setbacks against Sierra Leone (0-2) and Mauritius (1-2 in a tiebreak). With no wins to their name, Congo’s men are now out of contention for progression and will compete only to improve their ranking.
Women’s Team Still in the Race
The outlook is brighter for Congo’s women’s team, despite a defeat to Niger on Thursday. Their earlier win over Zimbabwe keeps them in the running for qualification. A victory over Rwanda on Friday will be decisive in determining their fate.
