African football transfer news: Monaco keep Melvin Gomes as European deals gather pace

Francois Fogue has joined Spanish fifth-tier club CD Gevoraa after leaving Real Foot Academie de New-Bell. The Cameroonian forward will play in the Tercera Division, the fifth level of the Spanish football system.

AS Monaco are also set to secure the future of 18-year-old defender Melvin Gomes, with the Franco-Cape Verdean expected to sign his first professional contract with the club in the coming days, according to L’Equipe.

Gomes joined Monaco’s academy in the summer of 2023 and is understood to have agreed a three-year deal. Chelsea made a concrete approach for the teenager, but he has chosen to continue his development with the Ligue 1 club.

Gambian midfielder Amara Camara has left Real de Banjul to sign a five-year contract with Swedish top-flight side Kalmar FF. His agent, Modou Lamin Beyai, told Footy-Africa that he handled the contract arrangements, residence permits and negotiations between the two clubs.

Camara joined Kalmar’s senior group for a pre-season camp in Pinatar, Spain, at the start of 2026. The move was influenced by the example of Gibril Sosseh, who transferred from Kalmar to Slavia Prague.

In the Czech Republic, Hradec Kralove have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Desmond Dada Ayomide after beating several domestic rivals to his signature. The 19-year-old, who was developed at JB Central Academy in Abuja, has signed a four-year contract with the Chance Liga club.

His agent, Babawo Mohammed, told Footy-Africa that Ayomide has the pace, physical strength and finishing ability to succeed. Mohammed compared the forward’s athletic and technical qualities with those of Kylian Mbappe.

Ivorian winger Armand Dagrou Djedje has moved to Morocco, signing a two-year contract with Mouloudia Club Oujda. The 26-year-old previously won the national championship with ASEC Mimosas and has also played for Racing Club d’Abidjan.

Djedje spent two seasons in Europe with Ararat Erewan in Armenia between 2021 and 2023.

Generation Foot have added three Senegalese players as they reshape their squad for the 2026/27 campaign. The club, based in Deni Birane Ndao, are combining the promotion of academy players with targeted recruitment after several established players left for European leagues during the summer.

Defenders Mouhamadou Ali Baba Diagne, from Ker Samba Kabatoki, and Ibrahim Yacine Diagne, from Be Sport Academy, have joined to strengthen the back line. Striker Aliou Diop Dieng, who has also played for Ker Samba Kabatoki and FC Metz, completes the arrivals.

Ivorian forward Oumar Piyo Ouattara has signed his first professional European contract with Hungarian top-flight club Zalaegerszegi TE. He joins from Deportivo Football Academy on an initial two-year deal, with an option for two further seasons that could keep him at the club until 2030. He is regarded as one of the leading prospects of his generation.
