The 4th edition of the African Canoe-Slalom Championship concluded in Sagana, Kenya, with Algerian athlete Nadjib Mazar crowned as the African champion. The 23-year-old Mazar made history by securing the first continental title for Algeria in this discipline. He finished ahead of Senegalese competitor Jean Pierre Borris and Kenyan athlete Alphaxard Maina on the podium. The victory was praised by Algeria’s national technical director, Youcef Mezghani, emphasizing the positive outcome, particularly as Mazar was the sole Algerian representative in the competition. Mazar is set to participate in the canoe marathon event following his triumph. Algeria will also compete in the African Kayak Championship scheduled for November 21-24 in Tunis, which will also host the Arab Championship on November 26-27.
