Didier Drogba Makes First Appearance Back at Chelsea
Didier Drogba is officially back at Chelsea. Since rejoining the Blues last month, the Ivorian striker had yet to make an appearance at Stamford Bridge—until Tuesday’s friendly against Real Sociedad.
Wearing his new number 15 jersey, Drogba was warmly welcomed by the fans before kickoff. Unfortunately, an ankle injury forced him off the pitch early, preventing him from participating in the Premier League season opener. Drogba explained, “I twisted my ankle and couldn’t continue. I will undergo treatment over the next few days and hope to recover quickly.”
Though recently retired from international duty, Drogba remains a beloved figure at Chelsea. Fans eagerly await his first full appearance this season, hoping to see him continue the legacy that includes an unforgettable Champions League triumph in 2012.
