Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying: Edmond Tapsoba tells Burkina Faso to turn disappointment into strength

Burkina Faso will look to respond to their opening-day draw with Benin when they face the Central African Republic in the second round of Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying.

The Stallions could only take one point from their first match, played at home, leaving the players frustrated by the result. Edmond Tapsoba says the team must now learn from that disappointment and focus fully on the next fixture.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Bayer Leverkusen defender called for a calm and confident approach as Burkina Faso aim to produce a better performance.

“We are disappointed, but we have to move on. We learn from our mistakes. The match is already tomorrow, so there is no time to waste. We will turn this disappointment into strength for tomorrow’s match,” Tapsoba said.

The Central African Republic also failed to win their opening game, losing to Niger.
