Former Ivorian defender Siaka Tiéné is confident that Morocco will host a memorable TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.

Speaking to CAFOnline, Tiéné, who is now CAF’s General Coordinator of competitions, said he believes the upcoming continent showpiece will be a great one.

“I can already see the enthusiasm and the considerable investment by the Moroccan state to host an exceptional AFCON. This benefits all teams, players, and supporters. I am convinced this will be a great edition, as Morocco will put everything in place to ensure the best possible conditions for everyone,” Siaka Tiéné said as quoted on CAFOnline.

The 2025 AFCON in Morocco will commence in exactly 100 days. Tiéné, who helped Côte d’Ivoire clinch the AFCON title in 2015, will play an important role for CAF.

The tournament promises to be exciting, with some of the top national teams on the continent set to gather in the North African country to battle for glory.

AFCON 2025 will kick off on December 21, with the final scheduled for January 18, 2026.
