Senegal forward Sadio Mané has expressed satisfaction after guiding his country into the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a hard-fought victory over Egypt.
The Teranga Lions edged the record champions 1-0, with Mané striking the decisive goal in the second half to seal Senegal’s place in the showpiece.
Speaking after the match, the former Liverpool star said the result was fully deserved, insisting Senegal were the more dangerous side throughout the contest and consistently pushed for a breakthrough.
He noted that the team’s experience from previous tournaments played a key role in maintaining composure and capitalising when the opportunity arose.
Mané explained that he exploited the space afforded to him to unleash a powerful shot that found the back of the net, a moment he described as a reward for the collective effort of the entire team.
Looking ahead to the final, the Al-Nassr forward, who was named Man of the Match, vowed to give everything in pursuit of another AFCON title, having previously lifted the trophy in 2021.
Senegal will now face the winner of the other semi-final between Nigeria and Morocco, while Egypt shift their focus to the third-place playoff.
