Morocco coach Walid Regragui praised his players’ character and togetherness after the Atlas Lions’ impressive 3–0 victory over Zambia, describing the result as a major boost for both the squad and the fans.
He stressed that such wins strengthen the confidence of the group at a crucial stage of the tournament.
Speaking to Arryadia TV, Regragui said: “When we manage to take our chances from the start, everything becomes easier. The team’s mentality was excellent, and the fans were fully behind us, and this is exactly what we need in every match.”
He added that the three-goal win was important to build belief, noting that his tactical substitutions helped restore balance across the pitch. Regragui underlined that everyone must stay focused and avoid any complacency, insisting there is no room for individual interests above the group.
“Winning 3-0 was important to boost confidence in the team, and we made tactical changes that helped improve the balance between the players. We must continue to work with the same team spirit that was shown today, and I hope that the fans’ support will continue in this way.”
He explained that the coaching staff will continue to work with the same collective spirit, while remaining cautious and fully concentrated on the upcoming challenges as Morocco chase further success.
