The Senegalese national team has wrapped up its final preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final against hosts Morocco.
The Lions of Teranga held their last training session on Saturday at the stadium attached to the Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat as attention turns firmly to Sunday’s decisive encounter.
Senegal arrived in the Moroccan capital on Friday from Tangier, where the team had been based since the start of the tournament. The squad travelled directly to the training ground by train in the afternoon, maintaining a focused and measured approach ahead of the highly anticipated final.
The session was notable for the absence of Habib Diarra and Kalidou Koulibaly, both of whom will miss the final due to an accumulation of yellow cards. Despite being unavailable for selection, Koulibaly was present at the training ground and closely followed proceedings as he offered support and encouragement to his teammates.
The opening 15 minutes of the session were made accessible to the media, reflecting the calm atmosphere and strong concentration within the camp as Senegal prepares for the biggest match of the tournament.
Senegal booked their place in the final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Egypt in the semi-finals, while Morocco advanced after edging past Nigeria 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw on Wednesday, January 14.
The AFCON 2025 final between the Lions of Teranga and the Atlas Lions will kick off on Sunday, January 18, at 19:00GMT at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with widespread anticipation building both within Morocco and across the continent.
