Head coach of Senegal Pape Thiaw has promised to deliver a great performance against Benin in their group game at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a highly competitive clash on Tuesday night, the Taranga Lions will take on the Squirrels of Benin at the Grand Stade de Tanger, with both teams seeking for victory to boost their chances of securing a place in the round 16.
While Senegal sit top of Group D with four points, the Squirrels of Benin find themselves in the third position with points, one points adrift of the log leaders.
This means qualification to the knockout stage will be determined after the final group matches this evening.
And speaking ahead of the match, Pape Thiaw has promised his outfit showcase a great performance in an attempt to grind positive results to aid their qualification to the round 16.
”Nobody wants to come up against Senegal. We are ready; we want to stay in Tangier, but if we have to travel to face anyone, we will. Before that, however, we need a great performance against Benin.” He said.
Senegal thrashed Botswana in their opening game of the tournament before sharing the spoils with DR Congo, who are currently tied on four points with the Taranga Lions.
