AFCON 2025: Samuel Chukwueze joins Super Eagles camp as player count rises to 26
The Super Eagles camp in Cairo, Egypt, now has 26 players following the arrival of winger Samuel Chukwueze on Tuesday night.
The update was confirmed by Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe, who noted that only Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon are yet to report to camp. He also disclosed that the team is scheduled to hold a gym session at 11 am on Wednesday, followed by a training session later at 5 pm.
Nigeria are continuing preparations despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to hosts Egypt in a tune-up match played on Tuesday.
Players currently in camp include goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali and Amas Obasogie, alongside defenders Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey, Bruno Onyemaechi, Ryan Alebiosu, Salim Fago, Chidozie Awaziem and Usman Mohammed.
The midfield options available are Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Akinsanmiro Ebenezer, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Raphael Onyedika, while the attacking department features Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu, Cyril Dessers, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke and the newly arrived Samuel Chukwueze.
The Super Eagles are expected to wrap up their pre-tournament camp in Cairo before flying to Morocco for the start of the AFCON 2025 on Sunday, December 21.
