Senegal defender Moussa Niakhaté insists that reaching the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is now the standard for his side, while making it to the final has become second nature.
The Teranga Lions secured their spot in the final of the 2025 AFCON after a narrow victory over Egypt in the semifinals.
Senegal, the 2021 AFCON champions, will take on hosts Morocco in tonight’s final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Ahead of the match, Niakhaté said: “Reaching the semi-finals has almost become the minimum for Senegal, and the final a habit.
“We’ve always operated with respect — it’s part of the values instilled in us as Senegalese. In the end, there will be only one winner: either Morocco or us.”
Kick-off is set for 19:00 GMT.
