Morocco defender Mohamed Chibi has declared himself fully prepared as the Atlas Lions gear up for their Africa Cup of Nations final clash with Senegal.
The two sides will meet tonight at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
“We are preparing for the final like any other match,” Chibi said. “We have one goal, and we will go into the game to achieve it.”
He added: “God willing, we will win the title and bring joy to the Moroccan people.”
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, Chibi noted the difference between playing for his club and representing his nation.
“My feeling is very different from what I felt with Pyramids,” he said. “Playing for your country in this tournament is completely different from the African Champions League.”
Chibi also emphasised Morocco’s determination to lift the trophy on home soil. “Our goal is to win the title and keep the cup in Morocco to make the people happy,” he said.
On the pressure of playing in a home-hosted tournament, he admitted: “Tension is a necessary thing, especially since the tournament is being held in our country. We hope to finish the Senegal match early.”
Chibi concluded by underlining the team’s unity and readiness. “Any player who participates will do his duty. We don’t care who starts; everyone who plays will give their all to secure victory.”
The final kicks off at 19:00 GMT.
