Nigeria midfielder Raphael Onyedika has singled out Samuel Chukwueze for praise for his outstanding performance at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
The duo have formed a perfect partnership at the continental showpiece, as Nigeria continue to make waves at the tournament in the North African country.
Onyedika struck twice on Tuesday night at the Complexe Sportif de Fès as Nigeria wrapped up their Group C campaign with a 3-1 victory over the Cranes. Both goals were created by Chukwueze, continuing a strong on-field partnership between the two players.
Chukwueze, who plies his trade for Fulham assisted Onyedika’s first-ever international goal against Benin Republic in June 2024. The 24-year-old has now scored three goals in 19 appearances for Nigeria, all from Chukwueze’s assists.
Speaking after their game against Uganda, Onyedika, who is in the books of Club Brugge heaped praise on Chukwueze, promising to gift the winger for his exploits at the tournament.
“I need to buy Samuel Chukwueze a gift… All my three Super Eagles goals came from his assists.” He said.
Nigeria has already secure a place in the last 16 and awaits their opponent in the next stage of the competition.
