Nigeria international Frank Onyeka has allayed fears over a serious injury ahead of their last 16 clash against Mozambique at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Onyeka, who plies his trade for Brentford missed his outfit final group game against Uganda following an injury setback in the 3-2 victory against Tunisia, sparking doubts about his availability for the round 16 fixture.
The Super Eagles will face the Mambas in a high-stake clash on Monday, January 5, 2026, with both teams seeking for victory to book a place in the quarterfinals.
As Nigeria gears up for the game, the enterprising midfielder has moved to confirm his availability for the much-anticipated clash.
“I am fit, you don’t need to worry I am fit,” reassuring fans and teammates. He also praised the squad’s depth, highlighting Raphael Onyedika’s two-goal performance.
“It was a good win… we look forward to the Round of 16,” Onyeka added. Nigeria topped Group C with nine points from three matches, maintaining a perfect group-stage record.
The Super Eagles are chasing their fourth AFCON title, having missed out on the ultimate in the previous edition held in Ivory Coast, where the Elephants triumphed over Nigeria.
