Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has entreated his teammates to eschew complacency ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations last 16 clash.
The Super Eagles will lock horns with Mozambique on Monday night at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, with both teams seeking for victory to secure a place in the quarterfinals.
The West African football heavyweights has been impressive at the continental showpiece so far, securing three straight wins in the group stages and finishing on top of their group.
Despite their unbeaten streak at the tournament, Iwobi insists his outfit will not be complacent as they prepare for the Mozambique showdown.
“Of course, we have got three wins out of three games… We cannot get complacent…” he told Ademola Victor TV,
Iwobi impressed in the group stages, delivering assists against Tanzania and Tunisia, as the Super Eagles made light work of their opponent.
Looking ahead, Iwobi said the Eagles would keep their standards, “The same thing we got in the group stage… give a hundred percent…”
