Morocco is preparing to turn the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations into a celebration far beyond the stadiums, unveiling eight major fan zones designed to bring the tournament to people in every corner of the country.
The initiative – created by Morocco and CAF – aims to make AFCON 2025 accessible even to supporters who cannot attend matches, turning public spaces into meeting points for passion, culture and football.
The zones will be free to enter for anyone with a FAN ID, and organisers say they want every fan, whether local or visiting, to feel part of the occasion.
Football, culture and nightlife in one space
Each fan zone will serve as a lively social hub, running from midday until 1am daily. They will not only show matches on giant screens, but host concerts, food stands, cultural shows and daily entertainment.
Officials say the goal is to extend the AFCON experience late into the night and offer a welcoming space for local supporters and travelling fans from across Africa and beyond.
Iconic spaces across eight cities
Morocco has placed its fan zones in some of its most recognisable and accessible locations.
Rabat will host fans at the OLM Souissi esplanade, a modern venue close to the stadiums.
Casablanca, the country’s economic powerhouse, will feature two large zones at Anfa Park and Espace Toro, signalling the city’s huge anticipation for the event.
Marrakech will welcome supporters at Bab Doukkala, where culture and football will blend in the city’s famous ochre backdrop.
Tangier, Fez, Agadir, and Temara add to the nationwide network, with zones at Villa Harris Park, the Botanical Garden, the Marina, and Kasbah Square respectively.
Each location is designed to carry its own character while contributing to a shared national atmosphere of celebration.
A connected and secure fan experience
Organisers have placed strong emphasis on an easy and safe experience. The FAN ID — available on the Yalla app — centralises match information, entry access and even a free e-visa for international visitors. Morocco’s national railway, ONCF, is also partnering with organisers to make travel between host cities smoother for fans.
Officials say the approach is designed to turn AFCON 2025 into more than just a sporting competition. With eight fan zones acting as extensions of the stadiums, Morocco hopes to create a country-wide festival that brings people together and leaves a lasting impression on the continent.
