AFCON 2025: Ivory Coast 1-0 Mozambique – MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Ivory Coast started their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign with a 1-0 win over Mozambique on Wednesday as they look to successfully defend their title.

The first half saw both teams testing each other’s defenses, with Ivory Coast enjoying more possession and creating several scoring opportunities.

The breakthrough finally came in the 49th minute when Amad Diallo broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal, sending the Ivorian fans into a frenzy.

The goal was a result of a quick counter-attack by Ivory Coast, with Amad showing great composure in front of goal to slot the ball past the Mozambique goalkeeper.

Despite falling behind, Mozambique fought hard to get back into the game, launching several attacks of their own. However, the Ivory Coast defense stood strong, snuffing out any threats and protecting their slender lead to ensure they take all three points.
