The final round of matches in Groups C and D at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations takes centre stage today, Tuesday, December 30, as teams head into decisive encounters with qualification still hanging in the balance amid tight standings and complex permutations.
In Group C, Nigeria sit comfortably at the top with six points from two victories and have virtually sealed their place in the knockout stage. Tunisia occupy second place with three points from two matches and head into the final round knowing their destiny remains firmly in their own hands.
Tanzania are third with one point, level with bottom-placed Uganda, setting up a tense battle for the remaining qualification spot where goal difference and head-to-head outcomes could prove decisive.
Both Group C fixtures will kick off simultaneously at 5 pm Moroccan time. Tunisia face Tanzania in a must-win encounter where any slip could be costly, while Nigeria take on Uganda in a match that could still influence the final order of the group despite the Super Eagles’ strong position.
Group D promises just as much intrigue, with Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo locked at the summit on four points apiece after two games, although Senegal currently hold a narrow edge.
