Players of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon’s players have been rewarded with substantial bonuses after triumphing over South Africa in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Cameroon prevailed in the high-stake clash, inflicting a 2-1 victory over the Bafana Bafana to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco.
Junior Tchamadeu and Christian Kofane scored in the first half for the Indomitable Lions, while Evidence Makgopa scored to reduce the deficit for the Bafana Bafana in a high-stake clash.
The win keeps Cameroon’s dream of claiming a sixth AFCON title firmly alive and reinforces their reputation as one of the tournament’s most successful sides.
As part of the rewards package, each member of the squad will receive a total of 18.18 million CFA francs, covering appearance fees, victory bonuses, and qualification incentives. The amount is estimated to be worth approximately $32,550 per player.
Having booked qualification, Cameroon will lock horns with host country, Morocco scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026, with both teams seeking for victory to book a place in the semifinals.
