Cameroon coach David Pagou has commended Moroccan supporters for their passionate backing, even as their team exited the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the quarterfinal stage.
The Indomitable Lions fell 2-0 to host nation Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari finding the net to secure the Atlas Lions’ victory.
Speaking after the match, Pagou praised the home crowd’s influence.
“I take my hat off to the Moroccan fans because this is the role of the 12th man on the field,” he said. “They did their job perfectly. I congratulate them and wish Morocco the best of luck.”
The win sets up a semifinal clash between Morocco and Nigeria at the same stadium on Wednesday, with kickoff scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
