The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued an official response following concerns raised by the Senegalese Football Federation ahead of the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, reaffirming its commitment to fairness, transparency and strict adherence to CAF regulations.
This comes after the Senegalese Football Federation publicly raised alarm over what it describes as “multiple shortcomings” in the organisation of the Africa Cup of Nations final against hosts Morocco, warning that the issues risk undermining the integrity of Sunday’s showpiece in Rabat.

In a strongly worded statement released in the early hours of Saturday, the federation said it felt compelled to alert both African and international audiences to concerns surrounding security, accommodation, training arrangements and ticket allocations, calling on organisers to act swiftly to safeguard fair play and equal treatment.
In its statement, CAF stressed that throughout the tournament, it has worked closely with the Local Organising Committee to ensure that all participating teams have been subjected to the same conditions.
The governing body acknowledged the statements attributed to the Senegal Football Federation regarding logistical arrangements ahead of the final but maintained that established procedures were followed.
CAF confirmed that the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football was given the opportunity to select a hotel for its team ahead of the final and that this request was granted.
The organisation also addressed concerns related to training arrangements, stating that once Senegal expressed dissatisfaction with the initially proposed training facility, CAF immediately contacted the Local Organising Committee to accommodate the request for an alternative training field, a matter which it said has since been resolved.
On the issue of ticket allocation, CAF stated that the Senegal Football Federation was provided with its quota of tickets for the final in line with existing regulations.
The governing body further noted that the President of the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football, Abdoulaye Fall, has been in regular contact with CAF leadership and the Local Organising Committee throughout the process.
CAF concluded by wishing both finalists the best of luck ahead of the AFCON 2025 final, which it confirmed will be watched across 180 territories globally, underlining the significance of the occasion on the world stage.
