The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has settled on Egyptian referee Amin Omar to handle the crucial quarterfinals clash between Morocco and Cameroon at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a high-stake clash on Friday, January 9, 2026, the Atlas Lions will take on the Indomitable Lions at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with both teams seeking for victory to secure a place in the semifinals of the tournament.
Ahead of the clash, the continental football governing body (CAF) has assigned Amin Omar as the centre referee for the highly competitive clash.
Amin Omar previously officiated the matches between Gabon and Cameroon, and Sudan and Burkina Faso in the group stage of the tournament.
Morocco qualified for the quarter-finals after defeating Tanzania 1-0 with a goal scored by Brahim Diaz.
Meanwhile, Cameroon reached the quarter-finals after defeating South Africa 2-1 in a high-stake round of 16 clash.
