Former Egypt star Ahmed Hossam Mido has praised the work of Pharaohs head coach Hossam Hassan, especially at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The coach has guided the record champions to the semi-finals of the AFCON in Morocco, where they will now face Senegal.
For Mido, whether Egypt wins or loses the semi-final showdown, Hossam Hassan has done well with the Egypt national team.
“Whatever the results, the Hassan twins were successful with the Egyptian national team. The players put in a great effort and fought against opponents with higher capabilities, but they played with one spirit and fought for each other,” Mido said.
He continued, “The success of the twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan with the Egyptian national team has many meanings that are much greater than football. What they achieved in the Africa Cup of Nations is a life lesson before it is a football achievement. Mohamed Salah said that this is the best training camp of his life, because Hossam and Ibrahim are men, and they succeeded in raising the value of the Egyptian national team in the hearts of the players, and I was confident from the beginning that they would do that.”
The semi-final clash between Egypt and Senegal is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, January 14.
