Cape Verde’s national team coach, Pedro Brito “Bubista,” expressed satisfaction at facing South Africa in the quarter-finals of the AFCON, invoking the spirit of Nelson Mandela, a symbol of equality.
Regardless of the opponent, Bubista emphasized their preparedness and the Cape Verdeans’ unwavering determination for the best result.
“We always think about being the best, regardless of the opponent,” he asserted, urging his players to maintain this mindset.
Bubista highlighted the goal of reaching the semi-finals and stressed the importance of consistent determination.
In facing South Africa, the coach pledged to approach the challenge with responsibility, unity, and patriotism.
The team’s focus remains on delivering their best performance to achieve their objectives.
During the last training session, all players were at the disposal of Bubista, except goalkeeper Márcio Rosa, who serves as Vozinha’s substitute.
Despite Rosa’s absence, the team remains dedicated to their preparations for the upcoming game against South Africa at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro.
The Blue Sharks aim to navigate the path ahead with a collective spirit of responsibility and patriotism to secure their first-ever semi-final berth in AFCON history.
